New Year's Comitment

As you know it's that time of year again, when everyone is making "new year's resolution's. The thing about these resolutions is people make the same resolutions every year and fall back to their old habits within months of making a commitment to change. I was told by my dad a long time ago a person doing the samething over and over without any change is called INSANITY!

My view is this, I don't make resolutions, I make commitments and the commitments I make I keep! I may fall off and I'm not claiming to be perfect, but I keep pressing my way towards my goals. You must keep your focus and be realistic in your vision of what you want to achieve. Take one step at a time taking action towards your goals everyday and before you know you have conquered the goal. But if you are a true trail blazer the next step is to make new commitments.

Where am I going with this dialogue you might ask, Whatever your commitment is going into the New Year, complete whatever it is you have committed to. I don't understand how people go out and party the night away, drink allnight, wake up hungover and feeling like crap! You have already started the new year the same as you left the old one.

I propose this, whatever your goals and aspirations for the New Year are that you come into the New Year doing exactly what it is you are trying to achieve. Start taking steps towards your goals today, don't wait! I hear so many excuses and I am to blame as well, but I want to promise you this I will not be out getting hammered this year! I will be working on my business and setting goals to improve all aspects of my life that need improvement, that is personally and professionally.

So with that being said, let's go into the New Year with a healthy and prosperous mindset so that we can improve ourselves and the world and truely make it a better place.

Family

Hey, I was hanging out in the studio one night with my wife Beth and my son Maxwell, and just started videoing Beth and Max playing around, and I just wanted to share the moment with my viewers regardless of how small it be(my viewers that is).

As I looked at the footage is made me smile and reflect on just how lucky I am and how wonderful it is to be able to share your life with someone. Iam fortunate in that my wife is my biggest fan and is always encouraging me to push farther. This is one of the reason that I continue to move forward in my journey for excellence.

I feel there has to be a driving force for you to continue on in life and Max and Beth are my driving force. My love for fitness and helping people is also a driving force and I just wanted to share one of my moments.

Thanks for watching!

John Hall Studios Training Pro Volley Ball Player

Hey! I just wanted to put a video of how one of the trainers takes Rachel who is a professional indoor volley ball workout. Rachel just landed a great gig in germany after rehabbing a knee injury.

I have worked very hard to create an atmosphere for the trainers at the studio that is conducive to them getting the best results for all clients.

I just wanted to share the video and the trainer Aarons knowledge on why he did certain things with rachel.

P.S. just really excited about being able to put video on my blog page!!

Hello again, well here is my first ever video post. I must confess that I'm not the most computer savy, but I figured that I should be somewhat knowledgeable about the process of movie making. So i dove into the task only to fail miserably several times before getting it right. Hence the reason for this post.

In life things don't always go right the first time, sometimes not the second or third time for that matter, but it's the ones who continue to push forward and keep their focus that get the reward.

This video is by no means perfect but it's a start and that is where it all begins. I couldn't go any further if I never at started. So what is the moral of this story if you don't succeed at first, try and try until you get it.

There is a saying in the bible: "men perish for lack of vision". Keep your vision and keep moving in the direction you need to go and surely you will get there.

How Commited Are You

Sorry for my brief departure from my blog, but I have been focused on a few projects aimed to expand John Hall Studios. In venturing out into new business relationships and projects, I am excited - excited to share the passion and love I have for what I do, and to touch others with the knowledge and expetise I have and continue to gain.

As I start to branch out into the fitness industry, I find myself asking, " how committed are you?" Through the years, I have pretty much kept to myself, however now that John Hall Studios has reached a certain level of success - not only am I seeking to share my testimonial with new trainers, but newer trainers and individuals in the industry are seeking me or coming accross John Hall Studios via other avenues.

Therefore, I really had to sit down and reflect on the commitment, determination, steps, and most importantly, ACTION, it takes to be successful and reach such a level. "To whom much is given, much is required." I have learned this - it is an important lession - and I'm trying to instill this in those I touch.

Unfortunately, what I often encounter - and the point of this blog - is that a lot of trainers that want independant success as a trainer, success as a fitness empire, and/or the ability to touch others - are not willing to put in the effort, time, or ACTION it takes to advance. They "say" they want this or that, and have long developed plans on where they want to be in "X" number of years, yada yada yada... but procrastination and excuses quickly replace the drive, and many trainers plateau at a level far below what they ultimately desire. I have been guilty of this same complacency, which is precisely why I had to ask MYSELF, "How committed are you?"

There are several fitness professionals I would like to mention - individuals who have taken much ACTION, and people I look to and learn from in my pursuit of the next level and beyond. Ryan Lee, Alwyn Cosgrove, Craig Ballantyne, Zach Evenesh, just to name a few... These guys have inspired me to take on tasks and new methods of promoting myself that I maybe never have discovered on my own. My goal is to be worldwide like these guys, sharing my passion with people from all walks of life - and influencing others as they have influenced me.

In closing, if one truly wants the success and notarity that they're striving for - there will be sacrifice. It is not easy. So, when do you know that you are committed? When you are willing to make those sacrifices, and take the steps - do the ACTION it takes to move from one level, to the next level, to the next, to the top!

Get It Done Everyday

Today is a great day and I give Thanks to God for allowing me to touch someones life today. I do have some complaints about the way in which people complain all day about they don't have enough time for this or that. I sit back and ask myself how do you not have time?

I know we all lead busy lives and things come up that may put a monkey wrench in our schedules, but the bottom line is this, If you want to stay healthy and not be overweight and have lots of energy, feel strong without the aches and pain you must stay fit! That means that you have to get off your lazy ass and do something! I don't care what it is or for how long.

People always talk about what they want and how they want to look and feel, but that is as far as it goes. Let's face it, there is no magic bullet! You have to GET IT DONE EVERYDAY! No matter what. The more that you learn to embrace that attitude the sooner you will be on your way to accomplishing all your dreams.

In the words of DAX MOY "you get paid for done". It can be rephrased to any situation that you might face in life, it you have a deadline, achieving at fitness goal, growing your business, relationship. You get what you put into it.

"Changing Mindset"

I have been a lot of thinking as I always do, on ways to better myself daily and I am a fitness professional, but I'm not a technician of fitness anymore. What I mean by that is in the past I have just thought of training clients owning a studio and being the technicain of the studio.

I have learned that before any of the things that I want to accomplish ever manifest I must change my mindset! I am no longer a fitness professional that trains clients and owns a job, I am a fitness professional that owns a studio with trainers that teach individuals fitness.

This has been one of my challenges and I'm really starting to catch on, the only reason is because I continue to surround myself with individuals that are where I want to be, I continue to strive for new knowledge on how to improve the business at John Hall Studios. If you ever want to be successful at anything you must be willing to change your mindset as you develop, the more you procrastinate and wait for the perfect opportunity the longer youstand still. You must be willing to invest in your education. You must take Action on what you learn.

I have in the past bought many products and get all fired up only to sit on things. Well things have changed and Wow it's amazing how taking action can change things. If there is any advice I can give is don't wait!

I was watching Zach Even esh the owner of underground strength coach today on a video clip and I truely admire his work ethic, the guy never stops. He has put together a incredible system for his following on a shoe string budget and his business is booming. The reason why is because did not wait for the perfect situation, he used what he had and started working towards what he wanted.

In summary, there is no perfect time or condition, work with what you got and keep your eyes on your vision and never lose focus and surely you will achieve all your dreams.

What's Your Motivation?

I have been asking myself that question a lot lately, and I keep coming up with the same answer: To help others achieve goals that they feel they can never achieve on their own.

I'm a fitness professional, but it really goes much further than taking someone through a workout, anyone can do that. I help people get through the emotional, physical, mental, etc. pains that they encounter. Not only that I have built some of the best relationships with clients that will last a life time.

It is so rewarding to see the transformation of a person with no self esteem, become this confident individual or to see a person say that they can't do something, only to motivate them and show them that can't is not an option and everything is possible. The look on their faces when the achieve what they thought was impossible is priceless!

The sweat, the work, the hurt, the pain, the emotions, the sacrifice, the reward is my motivation! I love what I do and I will to continue to help and show the world the gift that God has bestowed upon me. I left a career in Pharmacy to embark on this journey and I have no regrets.

And.....Action!!

Action! A word that is truely taken for granted. I was thinking about the bootcamp that I attended this weekend and the resounding message was you must take action. I have had many great ideas and have let them sit on the back burner and that is still where they lie.

I was listening to one speaker at the end of a great weekend of learning and Dax Moy made one comment that will stick with me forever; you only get paid for done, you only get paid for done.

We so often say we are going to do this and that and never do anything and I'm very guilty of that, but no more I'm taking action on every opportunity that comes my way. Some may not work and that is okay but I refuse not to take action anymore! That's my word!

Ryan Lee Bootcamp

This my first post, so forgive me if I ramble. I went to a bootcamp this weekend in Stamford, CT. The bootcamp was all about showing fitness professionals the business side of fitness and how to prosper from it. I hve been to Ryan Lee bootcamps before, but I have to tell you this was the most rewarding and informative event that I have ever been to! I can say that with such conviction because the knowledge I obtained this weekend will help me get more clients and grow my business by leaps and bounds.

I also got to meet the top professionals in the industry, and they were the nicest and layed back people that you want to meet. Very helpful and attentive to my concerns and a wealth of knowledge.

I recommend that any fitness professional that did not attend this bootcamp, that they get the CDs ASAP!
